Canyon Lake Village, which was developed in the early
1960s, is one of the original subdivisions at the
lake. The Village is set high on the cliffs overlooking
the southeast shoreline, very near the dam. The cliffs
shoot nearly straight up from the water, and this
results in spectacular views and the feeling of being
right on top of the water. Of course with this topography,
the buyer looking for a lot that allows them to casually
walk down to the water should investigate another
subdivision.
Restrictions are a minimum of 1,200 sq. ft. per structure,
no mobiles or modulars, and the annual dues are $24.00,
or $100.00 with the pool membership. The civic club
is very active, has a clubhouse and pool, and has
done a fantastic job of keeping the subdivision clean
and attractive. The Village has an eclectic mix of
homes to say the least. Many of these homes are built
on the side of a cliff, and with it's winding, steep
roads, one gets the feeling they are in a small part
of San Francisco.
Lot prices range from $10,000 for a cliff side hillview,
to $125,000 for a breathtaking waterview. Homes are
very affordable and nearly always well maintained,
prices range from low $150,000 for a traditional lakehouse
to $600,000 for a new waterview home.
